After reading the positive reviews about the iconic Mizuno Wave Rider, I bought a pair (Rider 13) in March 2009 as an alternate to my Adidas Adizero Aegis. I also deemed it proper to use a Mizuno shoe for the Mizuno Infinity Run event in April of 2010. After a year, the shoe has already logged 400 kms and the midsole is still very close to its brand new shape and form. The outer sole (X10) particularly in the heel portion has already graded, but I guess it is still good for another 400 kms or more. I have praises for the shoe's durability and I would have to say that it is one, if not, the most durable running shoe in the market today. Give it a nice cleaning and it can still be mistaken for a new pair.
The fit hugs my feet perfectly and I did not have a blister after two 21 km. runs. I just don't know if I would have one if I run a full marathon. But I am not yet ready for that. Finding time to train for the full marathon is really difficult.
Overall, Rider 13 has all the qualities I am looking for in a running shoe, durability, comfort, lightweight, and style, and price (in no particular order). I will definitely recommend it.
Rider 14 will be out in the market soon and based on initial reviews, it is getting a good beating from those who have already one in the US. I will be the judge of it once it is out in the PH market.
